Number 1 Air Control Centre 50th Anniversary - St Clement Danes Floor Tile

To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of No 1ACC 50th Anniversary in September 2015, the unit hopes to raise sufficient funds to purchase and fit a slate floor tile in the RAF's Church St Clement Danes, the RAF church in central London which is also the starting point for the Battle of Britain Heritage Walk.

The slate tile will be a permanent fixture on the floor of the Church and will serve as a permanent reminder to all visitors of an Air Surveillance and Control Systems Unit which has been on active operations in the UK, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

The cost of the tile amounts to £840 and a number of 1ACC personnel past and present have already made donations.
