I am very sad to report that Gerry Dinmore has received an email from Jill Forrow to say that Toby died in his sleep last night. Gerry will let me know if/when he receives any further details and I will, of course, pass them on.

Toby and I served together on several occasions and I counted him a good friend. We are all the poorer for his passing. RIP

My condolences to Jill and the family.

Mike

Sad news indeed, Mike. I remember Toby as a veritable gentleman and he will be very much missed by those who knew him.

My condolences to Jill and the family.

A chat with Toby was always an uplifting experience.  We must be thankful that we had one of his character in our ranks.  Condolences to Jill and the family.

I only knew Toby for a short time but, it is a sad loss to us all.

My thoughts are with the family.

Such very sad news. All my memories of Toby are really happy  ones. I too count myself very luck to have known and served with him. His dry sense of humour was legendary. Toby and I had great fun together in the early 80s at Neatishead when we worked alongside USAF colleagues controlling DACT with the mighty 527 TFTAS 'Aggressor' Sqn. His adopted personal call sign "badger" said it all and his 'gamesmanship' in securing simulated kills always won admiration from both sides of ' the fight'.
We have lost one of the best - and far too soon.
Sonja and I send our heartfelt sympathy to Gill and Toby's family.

This is very sad news. I've fond memories of Toby from Buchan in the mid'70s.

I'm sure that many people will want to know about Toby's funeral arrangements.  The funeral itself will be private to the family.  There will be a service of remembrance at a later date and I shall post the details on this Message Board as soon as I know them.
